ODPA does not stop at theory. Classroom instruction is tied to TTPs proven under real conditions and pushed into hands-on application.

Orion Defense and Protection Agency was founded by U.S. military combat veterans who saw firsthand how small unmanned aerial systems are transforming modern warfare — and how rapidly that threat is migrating into the domestic environment. Our team has worked with NATO militaries and in the Ukrainian theater, building deep expertise in both sUAS employment and counter-UAS defense.

We exist to close the gap between how drones are being used in active conflict zones and how U.S. military and law enforcement are preparing for them at home. The tactics, techniques, and procedures we teach are not theoretical — they're the same ones keeping operators alive and effective right now.

Our instructors are master-level drone pilots with real combat flight hours across multiple platforms. We build programs that scale from individual pilot proficiency to full unit integration, and every course follows our crawl-walk-run methodology to ensure skills survive contact with reality.

Methodology

Crawl — Walk — Run

Progressive training that builds real capability. No shortcuts, no wasted time.

Phase 01 — Crawl

Foundation

Classroom instruction, platform familiarization, threat identification, and basic flight skills. Every operator builds a solid understanding of drone theory, capabilities, and the current operational environment before touching a controller.

Phase 02 — Walk

Application

Guided practical exercises applying TTPs to realistic scenarios. Pilots execute ISR, offensive, and defensive mission profiles. Leaders plan and resource sUAS operations at echelon. Skills are tested and corrected in real time.

Phase 03 — Run

Integration

Full situational training exercises with minimal guidance. Teams operate independently under pressure, integrating sUAS capabilities into combined tactical operations. Performance is assessed against combat-validated standards.
